As a club of dedicated surf lifesavers we do our best work 'In the Red and Yellow'. Club members will know this as the Lifesaving Section of our website. Visitors to the site will be able to learn more about surf lifesaving from the 'Join the Club' section. The lifesaving section of the club is supported by volunteers in the following areas of responsibility: Our Education & Training volunteers dedicate countless hours turning new members into qualified surf lifesavers. Training sessions in all basic and advanced surf lifesaving certificates are conducted in the clubhouse and on the beach before examinations determine when people are ready to hit the beach "in the Red and Yellow". Essential lifesaving gear & equipment always has to be ready for a rescue. It takes a special group of dedicated volunteers to make sure rescue boats, boards, tubes plus resuscitation and first aid equipment is maintained. This equipment is expensive to run and replace and so it is looked after to the highest standards possible within the club's resources and we are always looking for corporate and community support to help with rescue gear and equipment. Patrolling North Cronulla beach is the foundation upon which our club's success is built. With qualified members and rescue equipment on deck we mount beach patrols from October to April each year. |
