North Cronulla Surf Club

The IRB team has come off a great season at the NSW IRB State Titles on the 11th, 12th and 13th July hosted at Woolgoolga SLSC. The team consisting of only 11 competitors managed to pull off a 6th overall placing at the State. In achieving 6th place we beat such strong clubs as Nth Narrabean, Soldiers Beach, Terrigal and Queenscliff. When considering most of these teams have 20 plus competitors 6th is a great result for a team with only three male crews who double up in both 23s and Opens, we have no womens and no masters competitors, so to get 6th is fantastic. The results included 5 medals, these included:

-Gold-23 rescue-K. Hughes, S. Freeman, J. Walker

-5th-23 rescue- J. Eaton, M. Cardy, M. Deguara

-Silver- 23 Mass - K. Hughes, S. Freeman, J. Walker, K. Hilliard

-5th - 23 Mass - J. Eaton, M. Cardy, M Deguara, G. McGrath

-Silver- Open Male Teams - J. Eaton, M. Cardy, M. Deguara, K. Hughes, S. Freeman, K. Hilliard

-Bronze - 23 Teams - J. Eaton, M. Cardy, M. Deguara, K. Hughes, S. Freeman, K. Hilliard

-Bronze - Novice Mass - S. Freeman, J. Walker, D. Brown, K. Hilliard

-6th - Open male rescue - J. Croft, C. Chounding, D. Brown

With these fantastic results Kane Hughes and I earned selection on the NSW high performance training squad. This squad represents the state at the Interstate Championships.

So it was a fantastic way to finish the season, the only way in on to bigger and better things for next season!
