Swimming is one of the most important parts of Surf Life Saving. In earlier days nearly all rescues were done with the rescuers swimming out to the victim. As technology is ever-increasing, powered vessels and other rescue equipment are now commonly used.

North Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club are recognised for there strength in surf swimming. Over the years we have had many swimming champions. In the 2001/2002 season Kate Krywulycz took gold in the Open Women’s surf swim as well as bronze in the U/19 surf swim and Megan Harris took the U16 surf swim champtionships in 2002/2003. Some past  World and Australian Champions have been Nathan Cotter, Simone Cotter and Jane Bouffler to mention a few.

All swimmers are encouraged to compete in the Sunday morning surfswim held at our beach at 11am each week.
